Corporate Website: Development

Planning   Development   Results

Be organized and comprehensive to ensure that your project will be done on time, on budget, and will exceed expectations.

Information Architecture

Based on results of the web audit, exceed customer expectations and translate customer experience into the working structure of the website. The deliverable is a set of website blueprints that includes proposed site architecture and high-level site requirements. These blueprints will be used for the new website design.

Content Outline

Set forth what information should be contained on each page, the projected targeted audience, and what their desired user action may be.

Wire Frames

Prototype the placement and hierarchy of elements on key pages within the new website design. Wire frames utilize only lines and boxes with labels. No fully formed design elements are utilized. This stripped-down approach is a proposed interface from a purely functional and hierarchical perspective, without color scheme and other specific elements influencing decisions on placement and layout.

Design Comps

Create the website down to every detail in a drawing program for all main pages. Use this drawing to explore the branding, architecture, and content. Refer to the wire frames and make improvements as you go.

Requirements

Describes all the processes on the website. If a user clicks a particular button, what happens? Detail out the site update protocols to dictate how changes will be made to the website and the procedure for approval of site changes. Develop a style manual to direct all development.

Content Creation

Create the website’s copy based on the content outline. When completed, incorporate it into the alpha release.

Testing

Comprehensively test of all aspects of the site.

Deployment

After any bugs have been fixed, start training for website contributors and move the website to the final hosting environment.
